I was in a near panic yesterday. Josh and I often talk about our future kids and how we will raise them. They will speak French, wear red berets and be a tad on the snobby side ( I say this in jest). They will climb trees, read books, love Jesus and be passionate about something. We know that we don't want to be the type that pushes our kids to do everything but we do want them to love life, learn about and do something really well. To quote John Krasinski in "Away We Go" (one of my favorite movies by the way) I want our kids to have a "huckfinny" kind of childhood. Yesterday I heard some parenting advice from someone and immediately my womb shrunk up.I told Josh, our children will never hang out with a person like that. Josh is more pragmatic and assured me that our kids will meet some tough people and that things will be said, but we will raise them in such a way that they will know right from wrong. This morning while on Pinterest, I found this quote and I think it sums up what my husband says and believes quite perfectly. *note: I am not pregnant and do not plan on being so for some time.
