Chalk Pastel St. Basil's Inspired Cathedrals

In the past, my seventh graders have drawn St. Basil's Cathedral and used acrylic paint. While this project had worked in the past I wanted to switch things up for our first project with my new seventh graders.

My students looked at some pictures of St. Basil's Cathedral, along with some other cathedrals in Russia on our new Active Board (yay!)

Then each child drew their own Cathedral with pencil on black paper. Students then traced the lines with glue. Once the glue dried students used warm and cool chalk pastels to fill in all of the black paper.

Check out the results!

Half way through the week!
