I don't know about you, but in teaching it is pretty easy to be insulated and get stuck doing your own thing. Last week Josh and I had the opportunity to look around at his new school (yay!!!) that he will be counseling at. He will now be at a middle school, and I couldn't be more stoked about it. But I was really really excited to see his school's art classroom. The class as huge, the size of two regular classrooms and tables and sinks (my classroom doesn't have a sink, yet). But what I was most excited to see, and what Josh had told me about before was the decorated ceiling tiles that the students had done.
I was so amazed at what these kids were doing. And while I love the internet for ideas, I think it is important for me to get out within my own art community and see what's happening. What have you learned from locals around you?
